
MRC has formed a collaboration with the General Practice Research Database (GPRD).
GPRD is the world's largest database of anonymised longitudinal medical records from primary care. It contains comprehensive observational data from real-life UK clinical practice and can provide analytical insight for a wide range of applications in clinical trials, drug safety, outcomes research and clinical epidemiology.
In order to facilitate the public health and clinical research agenda, MRC has acquired free access to the GPRD for the benefit of the UK academic research community. By providing wider access to these datasets, MRC wishes to encourage high quality research and develop capacity in public health and primary care research.
